Kolpur is a small town, nestled in the Nallamala Forest of Telegana, near the banks of Krishan River. (It should not be confused with Kolhapur in Maharashtra.) In this small town, the Moola Brindavana of Sri 1008 Sri SatyaPoorna Teertharu, the 22nd pontiff of Sri Uttaradi Math is present.

SRI SRI 1008 SRI SATYAPOORNA TEERTHARU

His purvasahrama name was Shri Krishnacharya. He was initiated to sanyasa and then ordained to Shri Uttaradi Matha by Sri Sri 1008 Sri Satyabhinava Teertha. His mruthika Brindhavana is in Kanchi, his seva kshetra.

ABOUT THE BRANCH

The Achar comes from Makthal and does pooja to brindavana before 8 AM and returns to Matkal. Devotees can avail simple darshan at any time, however to perform mangalarathi and take mantrakshathe devotees need to contact Achar at Matkal before hand. The Kolpur branch of Uttaradi Math is currently being built with the blessings and guidance of Sri Sri 1008 Sri SriSatyatma Teertharu. Devotees wishing to offer seva towards the contruction of the Kolpur Math can do so by contacting the achar.

ACCOMODATION & TEERTHAPRASADA

There is currently no permanent accommodation and teerthaprasada facility in Kolpur. However, devotees can halt at Makthal, where the achar currently resides. There are 2 rooms and a hall available for devotees to stay. Kindly contact the achar for teerthaprasada and accomodation in advance. During Aradhane of Sri SatyaPoorna Teertharu, temporary accomodations are made available for devotees at Kolpur itself.

LOCATION & HOW TO REACH

Kolpur is reachable by road from Raichur [approx: 40 KM - 1.5 hrs drive] and from Gulbarga [5-6 hrs ]. One can reach Kolpur by Bus. The Hyderabad-Raichur buses have a stop at Makthal [18 KM from Kolpur] from where devotees can travel to Makthal UM Branch or directly to Kolpur. The nearest train station is the Krishna Railway Junction (19 KM from Kolpur) and Raichur Railway Junction (39 KM from Kolpur).
