Indra is the king of Gods. He is famous weapon is the thunderbolt. He receives all the offerings offered through fire during sacrifices. He is the protector of the nectar, which is stored in his kingdom. He was born off Kashpa through aditi. He is the vanquisher of the demon Vritrasura. He is the controller of the clouds. Saci is his consort. He is great devotee of the supreme God and occupies the 8th position in the tAratamya of souls along with Kama.
