varAshramaste jaratoranAthayor-
na jIvatoH syAdayi nandanAvayoH .
sayAcanaM vAkyamudIrya tAvidaM
parItya putrAya natiM vitenatuH ..16..

varAshramaH te jaratoH anAthayoH na jIvatoH syAt ayi nandana AvayoH sayAcanaM vAkyaM udIrya tau idaM parItya putrAya natiM vitenatuH ..
anvayaH:
tau [pitarau] ayi nandana jaratoH anAthayoH AvayoH jIvatoH te varAshramaH na syAt [iti] sayAcanaM idaM vAkyaM udIrya parItya putrAya natiM vitenatuH.
anvayArthaH:
tau pitarau = Those parents of vAsudeva; ayi = oh; nandana = son; jaratoH = old; anAthayoH = having no one else to protect; AvayoH = us; jIvatoH = while still living; te = your; varAshramaH = acceptance of sainthood na syAt = shouldn’t be (is not appropriate); iti = thus; sayAcanaM = pleadingly;idaM = this; vAkyaM = sentence; udIrya = having spoken; parItya = going round; putrAya = to their son; natiM vitenatuH = prostrated.
Summary:
Oh son! It is not appropriate for you to accept sainthood leaving your old living parents who have no one else to look after them. Pleading thus, they went around and prostrated before him.
