sa jananI sahito janakaM gR^ihe
pragatavAMstamudantamavedayat .
nigada tAta shivaH kathakaH sa kiM

saH jananI sahitaH janakaM gR^ihe pragatavAn taM udantaM avedayat nigada tAta shivaH kathakaH saH kiM vitathagIH athavA ahaM iti Irayan.
anvayaH :
jananI sahitaH pragatavAn saH gR^ihe janakaM tAta, nigada, kiM kathakaH saH shivaH vitathagIH athavA ahaM, iti Irayan taM udantaM avedayat.
anvayArthaH :
jananI sahitaH = Along with the mother pragatavAn = having gone (to home) saH = that vAsudeva gR^ihe = in the house janakaM = to his father tAta = O’ Father, nigada = tell me, kiM = did kathakaH = the discourser saH shivaH = that shiva bhatta vitathagIH = speak incorrectly athavA = or ahaM = did I?, iti = thus Irayan = speaking taM = that udantaM = anecdote avedayat = narrated.
Summary:
Vasudeva went to his house along with his mother. After going home, he spoke to his father thus - O’ father, tell me. Who was the one who spoke incorrectly? The discourser shiva bhatta or me? Thus saying, he narrated the entire anecdote to his father.
