sa svajanaH = Parents and relatives prakR^itisvatantraH = free willed by nature bAlaH = the boy lIlAM karoti nu = is playing gR^ihAntaragaH nu = is he inside the house kUpAntare patitaH nu = or did he fall in the well itthaM = like this muhuH = over and over vicintya = having thought tanayaM = child vimR^igya = having searched anavexya = not finding hR^idi = in his heart tApaM = sorrow Apa = felt hanta = oh pity.

Summary

Is the boy, who is free willed by nature, playing somewhere? Is he inside the house? Did he fall in the well? - having thought like this the parents and relatives of the child searched all over the place. Not finding him him anywhere, they felt deep sorrow in their hearts.

Summary

The rising sun shines over the eastern mountain. The huge mountain with its high peaks, extending upto several yojanas, covering the entire surface of the earth beneath it and having beautiful caves, seems to hold the rising sun within its peaks. In the same way, the child vAsudeva, shone in between the two lenghty horns of the big and beautiful bull, catching its tail in his hand.

Summary

One morning, his favorite bull was going out to graze in various forests. The child, unnoticed by his parents, followed the bull to the forest, catching its clean tail without any second thought.

Notes: vAsudeva was a bold child. He did not fear going to the forest all alone without his parents.

Summary

At first, this child vAsudeva began to crawl. Thereafter he managed to stand on his own. Later due to familiarity he gradually started to walk. Of this vAyu, by whose grace the activity of the entire world takes place, behaving like an ordinary human being is just an act of play. O’ wonder.

Summary:

The mother breast fed the child repeatedly. The father took him into his hands and uttered holy verses for his protection. Other people fondled him showing their affection. This is because everyone was drawn towards the nectar of the smile on his face.

Summary:

The mother of this all-powerful vAyu, shrI mahAlaxmI, the mother of three worlds, was not amazed even when he drank the hAlAhala poison that emanated at the time of churning the milky ocean. To a person who has digested such a deadly poison what harm the hot pulses could do? Not knowing the greatness of her child, the mother of vAsudeva became wonderstruck on seeing her son in pink of health even after partaking the hot pulses.

tataH = after entering the house and seeing her child pR^iShTvA = having enquired pravR^ittaM sakalaM ca = what all had happened avagamya = having known shisunA upabhuktam = partaken by the child idaM = (this) the pulses yUnAM ca = even for young duHsahaM = hard to digest itthaM = thus vicintya = having thought tanayAM = her daughter bahu bhartsayantyA = who was scolding tayA = by her bhItaM = feared kupitaM uta = and got angry manasA anutaptam = repented.

Summary:

After entering the house and seeing her child, the wife of madhyageha enquired about what all had happened. She came to know that the child has been fed with hot cooked pulses used to feed the cattle. She scolded her daughter for feeding the child such pulses that are hard to digest even for grown ups. She feared that something might happen to the child and became angry towards her daughter. She repented that all this has happened due to her own negligence.

Summary:

At that time, the wife of Madhya Geha remembered that the child might be surely crying for milk. She cursed herself for mercilessly leaving the child at home for a long time and immersing herself in other works.  Worriedly, she rushed to the house only to see her son calm and full-bellied.
